Demystifying the Teewe Dongle

Disclaimer: I am not responsible if you mess up your device. These are steps which I followed and was successful.


Let’s hack or rather crack open the Teewe Dongle. Use your fingers to open the dongle casing from the side of the micro usb port. Don’t worry it will not break. After opening looks like below.


It’s using a rockchip rk3028A SOC.




We have a full size USB port (yes you can connect wireless mouse, it worksJ), 2 micro usb ports and a SD card slot. Aha!!! This has lot more potential than we thought right? Let’s dig in some more.

    Can you please tell me, How do we end the teewe app to go to the home screen or app drawer? When i connect a mouse and right click on the teewe app screen for back, it just waits with a blue waiting circle rotating mid screen.

      You need to sidelaod the laucher app first e.g. nova laucher. Also you can use es explorer to start the laucher or any app on teewe from mobile

    when i trying to open rk3028sdk in es file explorer, it shows adb://192.168.8.1 is not found

    but i can able to send apps to rk3028sdk

    help me out

      You can use apps2fire app instead. It worked for me (2018 Aug).

    Guys, first install apps2fire in phone and it will connect to teewe 2...then install ES file explorer in teewe 2 using apps2fire......

    Then, open Es file explorer to install Handy tv launcher and go a head as per above procedure......

    How can we get into teewe settings?
    I am not able to I'm the default screen. Also when I reset into debug mode,it doesn't get past the debug menu.

    I have installed apps using apps2fire, and wukong installed for mouse, I'm able to move the pointer but click not working. Any help would be much appreciated.

      It worked, removed all wukong and installed handy smart TV launcher in TV using apps2fire and installed handy smart TV in phone (device: Tewee 2)

    I am unable to do so. Teewe device is detected in ES explorer, but when i try to click it, it says adb://192.168.1.4 is not found. I tried many times. Please help

      Use app2fire to install apps or simple and best way is use CETUSPLAY. It has control as well bundle of apps which you can install to your teewe 2.
      Installed it yesterday, working fine for me

      Most probably you need to assign a static ip to your teewe device in your router or rescan for android tv from es explorer each time you want to connect. Normally your router assigns dynamic ip whenever you disconnect and connect any device.
