Sideloading apps on Teewe


Good thing is ADB is enabled by default and we will use it to sideload apps in few moments. Things you need:

  1.  Teewe device
  2. An android phone 
  3. ES File Explorer on the android phone.
  4. Handy Smart TV apk (for remote control)
  5. Any launcher app, I am using Nova launcher, although Handy Smart TV can also be used as launcher but I prefer Nova.
  6. Any other app you want (I have tried XBMC/Kodi, VLC, Popcorntime, CPU-Z etc. and they work beautifully)


Firstly, enable “Unkown Sources” Option if not enables. Use Handy Smart TV mouse feature from android phone to navigate. It works flawlessly.

ES file explorer has a handy feature to connect to android TV and install apps. You can figure it out from below screenshots, pretty easy stuff.
Install ES file explorer on phone and connect to android TV rk3028sdk. Obviously you need to start teewe first.





You can use the install button to install more apps. Enjoy!!!!

    Thank you for the tutorial. Kindly mention that Handy Smart TV Launcher has to be installed on the Teewee and Handy Smart TV app on the mobile.

    I am able to install and launch apps in TV..but how can i control it from my smartphone.

      Quickest way is to use wireless USB mouse. There's a USB port in the teewe device where you can attach the dongle

    Thank you. I am glad to say that my TV is complete smart.
    I don't have cable connection and See the selected serials. Now watching Ashoka. Using Ditto TV app on the Teewe makes watching fun. thanks again

      Use apps2fire app instead of Esexplorer. This worked for me!

      In your router give a static IP to your teewe dongle. So that the IP do not change with every restart of teewe

    Hi , I was not able to see "rk3028sdk" , but in network scan it showed up. Installed APK in TV and it show to choose launcher while startup. But I cant Change default launcher or connect using any TV app!!

    Got it. All I needed was back app no root. Now I am using teewe as full desktop, little slow but serves the purpose :-)

      Do you see keyboard like old mobiles? Such as key 1 has abc, 2 has def alphabets etc? Otherwise you will see chinese keyboard. I know it is not easy to type where you have to press 1 multiple times to get a, b or c alphabet. But that is the best I have found so far with cetusplay.
